Meet Your Dentist

Dr. Markham Harris, DDS

From Sculptor to Dentist

For Dr. Harris, dentistry is the perfect combination of two things he loves: being creative and helping people.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Brigham Young University, Dr. Harris earned his doctor of dental science (DDS) degree at Creighton University in Omaha, NE.

Dr. Harris worked with his father, who was also a dentist, in Idaho Falls for 4 years before moving to Missouri to be closer to his wife’s family. He practiced for one year in a group practice in Columbia before proudly starting Harris Dental in 2009 with his wife Christy. Dr. Harris is a member of the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association. He has been a volunteer for Donated Dental Services since 2015. With a desire to continually expand his knowledge and expertise, Dr. Harris has also pursued continuing education in laser dentistry, dental implants, CEREC same day crowns, and Botox.

Dr. Harris and his wife Christy have one son and three daughters, who light up their lives and keep them busy! When Dr. Harris isn’t devoting his energies to being the best dentist and dad he can be, he enjoys tennis, painting with watercolors and acrylics, sculpting and painting paleo art (Google “acrylic resin trilobites”), and playing one of many string instruments (banjo, bass guitar, and pedal steel guitar to name a few!).

At the end of each day, Dr. Harris is grateful for the opportunity to offer quality dentistry, find creative solutions to life’s problems, and genuinely connect with the unique and wonderful people who make Maryville, MO such a great community.
