Porcelain Veneers
Let Your Smile Do the Talking
From smiling in selfies to communicating confidence to potential employers, clients, or dates, your smile is a high-ranking asset to your personal, professional, and social well-being. If you’re less than satisfied with your smile’s appearance, you can create a bright, even, and beautiful smile that you’re happy to share in any situation with porcelain veneers.
What are porcelain veneers and how can they help my smile?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of targeted teeth. Available in over a dozen tooth-colored shades, porcelain veneers are custom-crafted to correct discoloration, stains, unevenness, chips, gaps, and crookedness. Like giving your smile a fresh coat of long-lasting paint that also happens to correct so much more than color, porcelain veneers allow you to create a radiant, youthful, and natural-looking smile that enhances your overall facial aesthetic.
What is the treatment process?
Porcelain veneer treatment is a straightforward process that is often completed in as few as three office visits.
- Consultation. Your veneer consultation is all about sharing your smile goals and getting answers to any questions you may have. Guided by the vision you have for your smile, Dr. Harris will skillfully create a treatment plan to achieve the results you seek.
- Preparation. To prepare your teeth and veneer treatment, Dr. Harris will gently remove a thin layer of tooth enamel from targeted teeth to make room for your new veneers. Next, your hygienist will take accurate impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create your one-of-a-kind veneer treatment at a specialized dental laboratory. In the meanwhile, you’ll be fitted with temporary veneers, which will be removed at your next appointment.
- Application. During your last visit, your teeth will be cleaned, polished, and lightly etched to ensure your veneers have the best bond, fit, and finish. Next, Dr. Harris will use durable dental cement to meticulously bond each veneer in place. Once the cement has set and finishing touches are made, your beautiful new teeth will be fully functional and smile-ready.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
Just like other porcelain restorations (like crowns and fillings), porcelain veneers can last 15 to 20 years with good oral health and proper care.
How do I care for porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are meant to replicate your natural teeth, all the way down to their care. To keep your smile and veneers strong and healthy, you’ll brush and floss daily, see Dr. Harris twice annually, make healthy lifestyle choices, and avoid using your teeth to open packages. If you have a history of bruxism (teeth grinding or clenching), Dr. Harris may recommend that you wear a nightguard to prevent unnecessary wear and damage.
Dental Implant Placement
With dental implants, you can restore the health, function, and beauty of your teeth and reclaim your sense of normalcy, well-being, and self-esteem.
